대전참여자치시민연대(이하 참여연대)가 윤석열 대통령의 지난 7일 오전 10시 발표한 대국민 담화에 대해 실망과 분노로 이어졌다고 평가하고, 불법 계엄 선포 이후 3일 만에 나온 대통령의 입장 표명에 국민들은 주목했지만, 담화는 2분 남짓의 짧은 길이에 불과했으며, 실질적인 내용 없이 무책임한 변명으로 일관했다면서 담화에 대한 입장문을 발표했다.

참여연대는 이어 윤석열 대통령은 불법적인 계엄 선포에 대해 '대통령으로서의 절박함'을 이유로 들며 정당성을 주장했지만, 이는 헌법과 법률을 기만하는 핑계에 지나지 않는다고 지적했다.
