브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= CJ그룹은 대형 산불로 막대한 피해를 입은 경상도·울산시 특별재난지역의 피해 복구를 지원하고자 5억원의 성금을 기부한다고 26일 밝혔다.
이번 성금은 전국재해구호협회를 통해 전달돼 특별재난지역으로 선포된 경남 산청·울산 울주·경북 의성·경남 하동 일대의 이재민 및 피해 복구 인력 지원, 피해 현장 긴급 지원 등에 사용될 예정이다.
CJ 관계자는 “예기치 못한 대형 산불로 사투를 벌이고 있는 소방 인력 및 자원 봉사자, 삶의 터전을 잃은 주민들에게 조금이나마 힘을 보태기 위해 성금 기탁을 결정했다”고 전했다.
주요 계열사별로도 구호물품 지원 및 임직원 봉사단 참여 등으로 힘을 보태고 있다.
CJ제일제당은 햇반, 비비고 국물요리 가정간편식(HMR), 맛밤을 포함한 간식류 등 총 1만여 개의 구호 물품을 기탁했으며, CJ푸드빌은 뚜레쥬르 빵과 음료수 총 1만 개를 산불 피해 현장에 긴급 지원했다.
CJ올리브영도 1억원 상당의 온누리 상품권 기부로 구호에 참여했다.
한편, CJ그룹은 2019년 강원도 산불, 2020년 경남과 전남 집중호우, 2022년 동해안 산불, 2023년 강릉 일대 산불 등 국내에 재난이 발생했을 때마다 성금과 현물을 기부하는 등 그룹의 상생철학을 바탕으로 한 지속적인 구호 활동을 펼치고 있다. 추후에도 산불 피해 현장 상황을 주시하며, 추가 지원 방안도 적극 검토할 계획이다.
