사단법인 거버넌스센터(이사장 이형용)가 6월 27,28일 이틀간 ‘전남대 여수캠퍼스’(전남 여수)에서 ‘2025 지역혁신 분권자치 거버넌스대회’(분권자치대회)를 개최한다.

이번 대회에서 참석자들은 지역소멸 위기가 가시화하고 수도권 초과밀화가 지속되는 등 지역 위기가 일상화 항구화하고, 이에 따라 국가의 미래 또한 불투명해지는 현실에서 지역혁신과 분권자치의 강화와 확대, 그리고 그 기반이 되는 거버넌스 활성화를 통해 지역의 미래, 한국의 미래를 개척해 가기 위한 구체적인 과제와 실천 방안을 모색한다.

대회에는 전라남도(지사 김영록), 여수시(시장 정기명), 전라남도의회(의장 김태균), 여수시의회(의장 백인숙), 거버넌스센터(이사장 이형용)가 대한민국시도지사협의회, 대한민국시장군수구청장협의회, 한국지방자치학회 등과 공동주최하고, 도시재생활동가네트워크, 마을만들기전국네트워크, 지속가능발전협의회, 마을교육공동체포럼, 전국마을공동체미디어연대, 한국사회연대경제, 지방분권전국회의 등 다수의 전국단위 분권운동 그룹 및 지역운동의제 그룹들이 공동주관으로 참여한다.

주최 측은 이 대회가 여느 학술 행사나 단체 행사와 다른 차별화된 주안점으로 첫째, 무엇보다 삶의 현장인 ‘지역혁신 현실’에 기반해 새로운 민주주의 미래를 설계하고자 하며, 둘째, ‘현장활동과 이론연구의 결합’과 ‘진정성 있는 중진과 혁신적 신진의 연결’을 기조로 하고, 셋째, 현실의 타개와 미래 개척을 위한 강한 ‘캠페인 성격’을 확실히 하고자 한다는 점을 강조하고 있다.

The Governance Center (Chairman Lee Hyung-yong) will hold the ‘2025 Regional Innovation Decentralization Governance Conference’ (Decentralization Conference) for two days on June 27 and 28 at the ‘Chonnam National University Yeosu Campus’ (Yeosu, Jeollanam-do).

At this conference, attendees will seek specific tasks and practical measures to pioneer the future of regions and Korea through strengthening and expanding regional innovation and decentralization, and activating governance as the basis for this, in a reality where regional crises are becoming routine and permanent, such as the looming crisis of regional extinction and the continued overpopulation of the metropolitan area, and thus the future of the nation is becoming uncertain.
