대전 유성구의 한 유치원에서 아동학대 의혹이 제기돼 경찰이 수사에 착수한 것으로 확인됐다.

만 3세 자녀를 해당 유치원에 보낸 부모들은 3일 오후 대전시의회 기자실을 찾아 자신의 자녀들이 유치원 교사로부터 방임과 학대를 받았다고 의심되는 영상을 제시하면서 해당 유치원에 대한 강력한 처벌을 요구했다.

"선생님이 나가라고 했어" 충격적인 증언과 CCTV  증거 영상에는...

지난 8월 26일, 자녀를 유치원에 보낸 A 씨는 27일 아침에 아이로부터 충격적인 이야기를 들었다. 아이는 "선생님이 나가라고 해서 가방을 메고 밖에 나갔다"고 말했다고 한다.

A씨는 처음에는 믿기 어려운 이야기였지만, 사실 확인을 위해 유치원을 찾아갔고, 유치원 측은 처음에는 면담을 피하고 사실 관계를 명확히 밝히지 않았다는게 A씨의 증언이다.

이에 A 씨는 다른 피해 아동의 부모와 함께 유치원 CCTV 영상 공개를 요구했다.

해당 영상에는 담임교사가 아이들에게 "말 안 들을 거면 집으로 가라(부모 증언)"고 말하는 듯한 장면이 담겨 있었고, 심지어 아이들이 밖으로 나가는 동안, 원내 교육실장이라는 사람이 복도에서 아이들을 밀쳐 넘어뜨리는 모습도 포착됐다.

3세 아이들은 교실 밖으로 내보내진 후 현관문을 통과해 주차장까지 혼자 걸어 나갔고, 당시 현장이 고스란히 영상으로 남아 있었다.

당시 영상에는 교육실장으로 추정되는 인물이 아이들이 나간 직후 현관문을 잠가 아이들이 다시 들어오지 못하게 됐고, 고의성이 의심되는 장면이 녹화된 영상에 대해 피해 아동 부모들은 아이들이 들어오지 못하게 막았다고 주장하고 있다.

아이들을 내보내는 과정에서는 현관문이 열리는 순간 3세 아이를 밀쳐 넘어지게 하는 당시 영상이 증거로 남아있었고, 실내에서 쫒겨난 아이들이 땡볕에 주차장까지 걸어서 가는 모습이 남아 있었다.  

A 씨는 "CCTV 영상에 따르면 아이들이 약 5분간 유치원 밖에서 홀로 방치된 것으로 보인다"고 주장했고, 부모들은 유치원 측이 아이들이 돌아온 후에도 교실 복도에서 추가적인 훈계를 한 것으로 확인됐다면서 당시 상황이 녹화된 해당 영상을 제시했다.

피해 부모들 "명백한 방임이자 유기"…경찰 수사 착수, 강력 처벌 요구

피해 아동의 부모들은 이번 사건이 단순한 훈육을 넘어선 명백한 아동 학대, 즉 방임과 유기라고 입을 모았다. 

증언에 동참한 피해 아동 가운데 한 학부모는 당시 상황에 대해 "만 3세 아이의 발달 특성을 고려하지 않은 감정적인 훈육이었고, 이는 아이에게 깊은 상처를 남기는 일"이라며, "믿고 맡긴 아이들이 이런 일을 겪었다는 사실이 정말 믿기지 않는다"고 울분을 토했다. 

또한, 해당 유치원이 사건 이후에도 사과 한마디 없이 "선생 교육을 다시 하겠다"는 무책임한 태도를 보였다고 비판했다.

경찰은 이번 사건을 접수하고, 아동청소년 수사팀에서 본격적인 수사에 착수한 것으로 확인됐다. 

피해 아동 부모들은 유치원 관계자들의 강력한 처벌을 원하고 있으며, 이번 사건을 통해 아이들이 안전하게 보호받을 수 있는 환경이 조성되기를 바란다고 밝혔다.

한편 아동학대 의혹을 사고 있는 해당 유치원의 입장을 듣기 위해 유치원에 전화를 했지만, 원장과의 통화는 할 수 없었다.

다만 전화를 받은 유치원 관계자는 해당 사건에 대한 유치원 입장을 듣고 싶다는 요청에 "지금은 말씀드리기가 어렵다"는 말만 되풀이 했다.
