세종시가 민간 주도로 열리는 ‘세종 빛 축제’에 공직사회가 함께 참여해 연말 도시 분위기를 밝히고 지역경제 활력 제고에 힘을 보탠다.

최민호 세종시장은 1일 시청 집현실에서 열린 간부회의에서 “민간이 추진하는 세종빛축제가 지역 활력을 높이는 좋은 계기가 될 것”이라며 “시청 각 실과와 공공기관별로 소형 빛 조형물을 설치해 축제 분위기를 확대하자”고 제안했다.

시청과 공공기관은 각 부서의 소망을 담은 메시지를 빛 조형물에 함께 걸어 동료 간 소통과 단합을 도모하고, 시민 참여형 축제로 확산될 수 있도록 홍보 역할도 병행할 예정이다.

올해 세종빛축제는 시민 주도로 구성된 ‘세종시 빛트리축제 시민추진단’이 주관하며, 오는 11월 22일부터 12월 31일까지 이응다리 남측 광장 일대에서 열린다. 

대형 성탄트리, 골든볼, 빛 터널 등 다양한 조형물 전시와 함께 주말 공연, 크리스마스 마켓, 시민 참여 트리 전시 등을 운영해 금강 수변 상권 활성화에 기여할 계획이다.

최 시장은 “창의성과 개성을 살린 소형 빛 조형물이 시청과 공공기관 곳곳에서 빛난다면 시민의 참여 의식을 높이고 지역 경기에도 긍정적인 효과를 줄 것”이라고 말했다.

이와 함께 최 시장은 간부회의에서 재정 여건 악화를 언급하며 “내년도 본예산 편성과 국비 확보에 모든 역량을 집중해야 한다”고 강조했다. 그는 “시정 4기 마지막 해이자 시정 5기 첫해가 되는 내년 예산은 매우 중요한 시점”이라며 “의회 협의에 적극 대응해 원안 통과에 힘써 달라”고 당부했다.

또한 “보통교부세 제도 개선을 통해 재정 기반을 강화하고, 행정수도 관련 법안 통과를 위한 국회 대응에도 최선을 다해야 한다”고 덧붙였다.

아울러 최 시장은 세종시의 문화 정체성을 살리는 정책으로 ‘박물관 중심의 시민 교양 강의’ 신설을 제안했다. 그는 “역사와 예술, 교양을 함께 다루는 박물관 강의를 통해 시민들의 평생교육 만족도를 높일 수 있다”며 세종평생교육원 등과의 연계를 주문했다.

한편, 최 시장은 오는 13일 치러질 2026학년도 대학수학능력시험을 앞두고 수험생들의 안전한 이동을 위한 비상차량 운영 및 교통 순환 관리에도 만전을 기해 달라고 지시했다.
