윤석열 대통령과 부인 김건희 여사가 20일 오후(현지시간) 영국 런던에 도착해 3박 4일간의 국빈 방문 일정에 들어갔다.
윤 대통령은 지난 5월 대관식을 치른 찰스 3세 국왕이 초청한 첫 국빈으로 한국 대통령으로선 10년만의 국빈 방문이다.
윤 대통령 내외는 이날 오후 4시 5분께 대통령 전용기 공군 1호기 편으로 런던 스탠스테드 국제공항에 도착해 현지 인사들 영접을 받았다.
공항엔 영국측 왕실수석의전관 후드 자작·빈센트 톰슨 에섹스지역 국왕 부대리인·데이비드 피어리 외교장관 특별대표·조나단 파울러 스탠스테드 공항 대표·벤-줄리안 해링턴 에섹스 지역 경찰청장. 한국측 윤여철 주영한국대사·김숙희 한인회장·손병권 민주평화통일자문회의 영국협의회장·박명은 재영경제인협회장 등이 마중 나와 윤 대통령 내외를 맞았다.
윤 대통령 내외는 영국 의장대를 사열하고 환영 인사들과 인사를 나눈 후 영국 왕실에서 제공한 의전차량을 타고 이동했다. 윤 대통령은 이날 오후 런던 현지 동포간담회를 시작으로 공식 국빈 방문 일정에 들어간다.
