【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충주시는 시청 육상팀 임예진 선수가 ‘2024 경기수원국제하프마라톤대회’에서 금메달을 획득했다고 27일 밝혔다.

충주시에 따르면 임예진 선수는 최근 수원특례시와 한국실업육상연맹, 경기일보 주최로 수원특례시 종합운동장일원에서 열린 이 대회에서 여자부 1위에 올랐다.

시는 임예진 선수가 발바닥에 물집이 잡힌 가운데에도 1시간 14분 01초로 결승선을 통과했고 남자부 박원빈 선수도 1시간 04분 42초의 기록으로 2위를, 남자단체전 2위를 기록했다고 밝혔다.

이날 대회는 해외 초청 선수 6명과 국내 실업팀에서 남자부 16개팀 59명, 여자부 12개 팀 37명 등 총 102명의 엘리트 선수들이 참가했다.

안경기 감독은 “지난해에 이어 올해 대회에서 수상해 기쁘다”며 “전국체전 등 남은 대회에서도 육상의 도시 충주의 명성을 이어가도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 충주시청 육상팀은 지난해 ‘2023 경기국제하프마라톤대회’에서도 임예진 선수가 2위, 남자부 단체 4위를 기록한 바 있다.
