윤석열 대통령이 28일 "군은 국민과 함께 일치단결해 대한민국을 흔들려는 북한 책동을 단호하게 물리쳐야 한다"고 밝혔다.

윤 대통령은 이날 오후 충북 괴산 육군학생군사학교에서 열린 '2024 학군장교 임관식'에 참석해 "자유민주주의 근간인 총선을 앞두고 북한이 사회 혼란·국론 분열 목적으로 다양한 도발·심리전을 펼칠 가능성이 매우 높다"며 이같이 말했다고 대통령실이 전했다. 현직 대통령의 학군장교 임관식 참석은 지난 2008년 이명박 전 대통령 이후 16년 만이다.

윤 대통령은 먼저 외국시민권을 포기 후 군을 선택한 학군장교·3대 군인가족·6·25 참전유공자 후손 등 임관식에 참석한 학군장교들 면면을 소개하며 대를 이은 대한민국 수호 의지를 높이 평가했다.

또 지난 제2연평해전에서 전사한 고 조천형 상사 딸 조시은 학군 후보생이 임관식에 참석한 것을 소개하며 한동안 말을 잇지 못하고 울컥하는 모습을 보였다. 조 후보생은 아버지를 따라 군인 길을 걷겠다며 지난해 2월 학군단에 입단했다.

이날 윤 대통령은 학군사관후보생 과정을 최고 성적으로 마친 한정호 소위(육군·한림대), 오지윤 소위(해군·부경대), 노균호 소위(공군·국립교통대)에게 대통령상을 수여했다.
