필자는 3월4일 아침에 일어나, 아주 기쁜 마음이었다. 기쁘게기쁘게 마음을 추스렸다.
오늘 손자 문진양이 서울 서대문구 충정로 52(미근동 36-1)에 위치하는 미동초등학교에 입학(1학년 1반. 학생수 14명)하는 날이기 때문이다. 이 학교는 1896년에 개교, 128년의 역사를 지녔다. 이 학교의 총 동창생 수는 48,066(2020년 통계)명이다.
필자는 부모-본인-아들-손자 세대와 인연을 맺어왔다. 4대가 한 고리로, 맞물려 있다.

고려 말기는 필자의 성씨인 문씨(文氏)들이 고위층을 차지하고 있었다. 그런데 1888년 5월-6월, 이성계의 위화도 회군이라는 반정(反政-군부쿠데타) 사건이 일어났다. 반란군의 집권 성공으로 인해 문씨(文氏)들은 지방으로 뿔뿔이 흩어졌고, 각 곳에 집성촌을 만들어 지금까지 생존해왔다. 그 기간이 지금까지 무려 636년이나 걸렸다. 현대 사회는 민중의 손으로 국가의 최고 지도자를 뽑는 시대여서 필자의 가문(家門)이 이런 호사를 누리게 된 것이다. 1976년 출판된 알렉스 헤일리(1921~1992)의 소설 '뿌리'의 내용을 닮은 가계(家系) 스토리이다.
