브레이크뉴스 박동제 기자= 마약 투약 혐의를 받고 있는 국가대표 출신 전 프로야구 선수 오재원(39)이 결국 구속됐다.
서울중앙지법 김미경 영장전담 부장판사는 22일 마약류관리법 위반(향정) 혐의를 받는 오재원의 구속 전 피의자 심문(영장실질심사)에서 “도망할 우려가 있다”며 영장을 발부했다.
오재원은 심문 도중 호흡곤란을 호소, 구급대가 출동하기도 했으나 현재는 이상이 없는 상태인 것으로 전해졌다.
앞서 지난 21일 오후 3시 52분께 경찰 호송차를 타고 법원에 도착한 오재원은 포승줄에 묶인 채 이동했다. 특히 ‘마약류를 언제부터 투약했냐’, ‘선수 시절에도 투약했냐’, ‘증거를 숨기기 위해 탈색과 제모를 했냐’, ‘수면제 대리 처방은 사실이냐’ 등에 대한 취재진 질문에 아무런 대답을 하지 않은 채 법정으로 향했다.
오재원은 지난 19일 마약류관리법 위반 등 혐의로 경찰에 체포됐다.
경찰은 앞서 지난 10일 오재원과 함께 있던 여성의 신고로 그를 마약 투약 혐의로 임의동행해 조사했다. 당시 마약 간이 시약검사에서 오재원과 여성 모두 음성이 나와 귀가했다. 이후 경찰은 마약 투약 단서를 추가로 확인, 체포 영장을 발부 받아 19일 오재원을 체포한 것으로 알려졌다.
한편, 오재원은 2007년 두산 베어스에 입단해 2022년까지 16시즌 동안 한 팀에서만 활약했다. 2014년 인천 아시안게임, 2015년 프리미어12에 발탁돼 국가대표로 활약하기도 했다.
