우드회 회원들이 지난 1년여의 꿈과 노력이 담긴 그림 작품을 한데 모아 시민열린전시회를 갖는다. 경기도 광명시 소재 하안도서관 1층에 전시 공간이 마련됐으며, 4월 2일부터 오는 29일까지(오전 7시~오후 11시) 선보일 예정이다. 금요일은 휴관이다.

우드회(우리마을 드로잉반)는 광명시 소하1동 주민센터를 중심으로 그림을 그리고 싶어 모인 회원들로 구성됐다. 화가 이혜정 선생이 지난 2022년 개설한 후 본격 활동한 기간은 일 년여가 조금 지났다.

회원 모두 그림에 대한 열정은 매우 높았으나, 그간 일과 가정생활에 쫓겨 접하기 쉽지 않았다. 그 때문에 그림 그리기를 지켜만 보던 남녀 회원들이 모임을 이루고 수업을 받았다. 그림을 통해 자신을 표현하는 방법을 깨닫는 계기가 되고 있다.

이혜정 화백은 "회원들이 각자의 삶에서 겪는 에피소드를 나누기도 하며, 미술의 여러 기법을 배우고 표현하는 가운데 카타르시스와 행복을 얻기도 한다"며 "이번 전시를 통해 회원들이 스스로를 좀 더 자신 있게 내보이고 성찰하는 계기가 되길 바란다"는 애정어린 조언도 곁들였다.

Members of the Wood Association will hold an open exhibition of citizens by bringing together paintings that contain dreams and efforts over the past year. The Wood Society (Our Village Drawing Group) is composed of members who gathered to paint around the Soha 1-dong Community Center in Gwangmyeong. It has been a little over a year since artist Lee Hye-jeong opened in 2022.
All of the members had a very high passion for painting, but it was not easy to access because they were busy with work and family life. For that reason, male and female members who watched the painting formed a meeting and took classes. It is an opportunity to realize how to express yourself through painting.
Artist Lee Hye-jeong said, "We share the episodes that members go through in their lives, and we get catharsis and happiness while learning and expressing various techniques of art," adding, "I hope this exhibition will serve as an opportunity for members to show themselves more confidently and reflect on themselves."
