청명은 24절기의 하나로, 춘분(春分)과 곡우(穀雨)의 사이(양력 4월 5ㆍ6일께로 동지 후 105일 째 되는 날)이다. 이날은 한식(寒食) 전날 혹은 같은 날이 될 수 있으며, 한식은 설날, 단오, 추석과 함께 4대 명절 중 하나다.

또한 ‘청명에는 부지깽이를 꽂아도 싹이 난다’라는 속담처럼날씨가 좋아, 농사와 같은 생업 활동하기 수월한 날이라 하여 ‘손 없는 날’이라고도 한다.

이번 행사에는 6일 오후 14시 30분부터 19시까지 벚꽃길 버스킹공연을 시작으로 전통혼례, 장승 퍼포먼스, 하회별신굿탈놀이, 음식 나눔, 인문토크쇼 등 다채로운 프로그램이 진행된다.

류열하 안동하회마을보존회 이사장은 “공동체 문화와 민속놀이, 그리고 음식 나누기 등의 민속 문화는 농촌마을의 안녕과 풍년을 기원하고 공동체의 건강과 화합을 다지는 중요한 풍습이며, 이러한 행사를 세계유산 하회마을을 찾는 관광객들에게 알리고 주민과 함께 어울려 즐길 수 있도록 다양한 체험프로그램을 준비했다”고 말했다.

아울러 “관광거점사업을 통한 꾸준한 세시풍속 행사의 진행을 통해 옛 선조들이 행하던 풍습을 지켜나가도록 노력하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
