【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군청 자전거팀(감독 진용철)은 지난달 22일부터 28일까지 강원 양양에서 개최된 ‘2024 KBS 양양 전국사이클선수권대회’에 출전해 은메달 1개를 획득했다고 밝혔다.

남자부 제외경기에서 이수현(19세) 선수가 2위를 차지하며 은메달을 목에 걸었다.

이수현 선수는 올해 의정부공고를 졸업하고 음성군청에 입단해 고등부에서 일반부로 옮겨 일반부 경기에서 첫 메달을 신고하며 훈련의 성과를 보여 줬다.

음성군청 진용철 감독은 “좋은 성적을 거둘 수 있도록 물심양면으로 후원해 주신 음성군에 감사드린다”며 “훈련에 매진해 다음 대회에서는 더 좋은 성적을 낼 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 음성군청 자전거팀은 진용철 감독의 지도하에 남자부 김용준, 이수현, 홍석현 선수와 여자부 김지은, 이향현, 김진솔, 황윤민 선수로 구성돼 상반기 4개 대회를 출전, 4개 대회에서 입상했으며, 오는 10월에 있는 제105회 전국체육대회 입상을 목표로 힘차게 페달을 밟고 있다.
