【브레이크뉴스 포항】진예솔 기자=포항 택시 기사 무차별 폭행 사건이 재조명되고 있다. 지난 2일 방송된 JTBC 교통 공익 버라이어티 ‘한문철의 블랙박스 리뷰’(한블리)에 승객에게 무차별 폭행당한 70대 택시 기사의 당시 모습이 공개됐기 때문이다.

한블리에 따르면 임 씨는 지난 5월 31일 오후 7시 30분께 이 씨의 개인택시 조수석에 탑승했다. 20분쯤 뒤 목적지에 도착하자 임 씨는 “너 손님한테 맞아본 적 있냐"라며 시비를 걸었고, 이 씨는 “그런 적 없다"라고 답하며 요금 지불을 요청했다. 이에 임 씨는 “너 택시요금 못 받아 본 적 있느냐”고 물었고 이 씨가 “그런 적 없다"라고 답하자 "대단하다"라며 좌석을 뒤로 젖힌 채 눈을 감았다.

이어 이 씨는 증거 확보를 위한 블랙박스 칩을 확보하기 위해 끔찍한 폭행을 당했던 택시로 돌아가 겨우 블랙박스 칩을 차내 다른 곳에 숨겼다.

'한블리'가 만난 이 씨의 아들은 “제가 보기엔 죽일 각오로 때렸다”라며 울먹였다. 택시 기사 이 씨도 “사람의 탈만 썼지, 인간이 아니구나라는 생각이 들었다” 당시를 떠올렸다.

이날 공개된 통화에서 임 씨는 이 씨의 아들이 "우리 아버지 맞은 것 어떻게 할 거냐"라고 묻자 "술을 많이 먹어 기억이 안 난다. 내가 이유 없이 그런 짓을 할 사람이 아니다”며 "어떻게 하면 되겠냐"고 말해 전혀 반성하지 않는 태도를 보였다.

한 변호사는 임 씨는 당시 “경찰 조사 과정에서 자신도 손가락을 다쳤다며 쌍방 폭행으로 경찰에 접수했다"라며 구속 수사 중인 임 씨에게 “어떤 처벌이 내려질지 지켜보겠다"라고 말했다.
