(신안=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전남 신안군은 오는 13일부터 15일까지 3일간 도초면 용항정에서 ‘제5회 신안군수기 전국 남녀 궁도대회’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

신안군 궁도협회가 주관하고, 신안군과 신안군체육회에서 후원하는 이번대회는 2017년 1회 대회를 시작으로 올해 5회째를 맞이하는 전국 남녀 궁도대회이다.

이번 대회는 13일 실업부와 단체전을 시작으로 14일, 15일 개인전이 진행되며, 3일간 850여 명의 전국 명궁들이 참가해 실력을 겨룰 예정이다.

그동안 신안군 궁도협회는 2023년 전남도체육대회 우승을 비롯하여 전국규모 궁도대회에서 여러 차례 우승하는 등 도서지역의 열악한 환경 속에서꾸준히 대회에 참가하여 우승하는 저력을 발휘해 왔다.

군 관계자는 “앞으로 전통 무예인 국궁을 지속적으로 지원・육성하여 군민의 체력 증진은 물론 국궁의 전승과 발전을 위해 노력할 것이다”라고 말했다.
