[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 산삼과 힐링의 고장 함양에서 전국의 유소년 축구 꿈나무들이 참가하는 ‘제1회 함양 산삼컵 유스풋볼 페스티벌’을 개최한다.

함양군체육회가 주최하고 함양군축구협회가 주관하는 이번 대회는 오는 7월 19일부터 22일까지 나흘간에 걸쳐 함양스포츠파크 일원에서 진행되며 전국 각지의 초등부를 대상으로 총 96개 팀, 1,200여명의 유소년 선수들이 참가해 평소 갈고닦은 기량을 마음껏 펼치게 된다.

함양군과 대회 사무국은 한여름의 무더위를 고려해 늦은 오후부터 야간경기로 대회를 진행하며 가족들과 함께 무더위를 피할 수 있는 물놀이 이벤트존이 진행될 예정이다.

또한 살수차 운영 등 더위를 식혀줄 다양한 방안을 마련해 안전한 대회 운영에 최선을 다할 예정이다.

특히 이번 함양 산삼컵은 함양에서 개최되는 첫 번째 대규모 유소년 축구대회로 참가하는 꿈나무들이 축구를 통한 건강한 신체 발달과 팀워크, 스포츠 정신을 배울 수 있는 기회를 제공하기 위해 마련됐다.

진병영 군수는 “여름방학 시작에 맞춰 개최됨에 더 많은 학부모와 관람객이 함양을 방문할 것을 기대된다”며 “관내 숙박업소 및 음식점 관계자들에게 외부 손님들에 대한 친절과 공중위생에 만전을 기하겠다”고 밝혔다.

함양군체육회 안병명 회장은 “제1회 함양 산삼컵 유스풋볼 페스티벌 대회를 통해 지역과 전국의 유소년축구 발전에 큰 도움이 되길 바란다”며 “이번 대회가 더욱 발전해 전국의 전통 있는 유소년 축구대회로 자리 잡기를 바란다”고 말했다.
