한국예술문화총연합회는 “한국을 대표하는 우주화가로서 우주를 주제로 독창적인 작품 세계를 펼쳐온 하정열 화백에게 7월 31일 한국예총회장상을 수여했다”고 밝혔다.
하정열 화가는 우주화(宇宙畵)라는 영역을 개척하며 뛰어난 예술적인 감각과 창의력으로 미술문화를 빛내고, 작가로서 글로벌 아트(Gloval Art) 시대에 대한민국의 예술계를 발전시키는데 기여한 공로를 인정받아 이 상을 수상하게 됐다.
하정열 화백은 우주를 대상으로 동서양의 사상과 물질을 융합시킨 독특한 우주 작품을 선보이며 세계적인 우주화가로서 인정받으면서, 개인전 30회, 국제 아트페어 30여 회 등 국내외 단체전에 300여 회를 출품하는 등 활발한 작품 활동을 이어오고 있다.
하졍열 화가는 2014 대한민국미술전람회 종합대상, 2016 대한민국 파워리더 서양화부문 대상, 2017 대한민국 BEST인물대상 문화예술인부문 대상, 2018 대한민국 BEST인물대상 서양화부문 특별대상, 2018 일본 오사카 미술평론가상, 2019년 ‘3.1운동 100주년 기념 대한민국평화미술대축전’ 우수작가상, 미국 칼슨시 시장상, 2019 뉴욕아트페어 미술부문 대상, 2021년 미국 한국전 참전용사 기념전 세계평화상, 중국 회화영웅상, 일본과 필리핀의 미술평론가상 등 국내외 저명한 상을 43회 수상했으며, Gloval Cosmos Painter로 발돋움하고 있다.
