이번 모니터링 검사는 지난 10월 1일부터 시작된 하반기 구제역 백신을 농가에서 제대로 접종했는지 여부와 야외 바이러스 감염 여부 확인을 위한 것이다.

검사 대상은 올해 구제역 백신 항체검사를 실시한 적이 없거나 백신 항체 양성률이 저조한 농가, 소규모 농가 등이다. 소 50마리 미만 202농가, 전업농 202농가, 염소 300마리 미만 36농가, 전업농 18농가 등 전체 458농가가 해당된다.

소규모 농가 5마리, 전업농 16마리를 검사하며, 검사 결과 구제역 백신 항체 양성률이 기준치(소 80%·염소 60%) 미만인 농가는 과태료 처분 등 행정조치와 함께 백신 재접종 후 추가 검사를 실시한다.
