[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 2026년 3월 개관 예정인 김해시립김영원미술관 홍보와 기대감을 높이기 위한 사전프로젝트의 시작으로 제14회 서울국제조각페스타에 지역 출신 예술인이 참여한다고 8일 밝혔다.

서울국제조각페스타는 2011년부터 시작하여 올해로 14회를 맞이하고 있으며, 우리나라를 대표하는 국제 규모의 아트페어로 작가들 사이에서는 반드시 서 보고 싶은 무대이다.

이번 프로젝트는 김해시 출신 예술인들이 지역을 넘어 국제 규모의 장으로 나아가 마음껏 역량을 펼치고, 전국에서 모인 예술인들과 현대미술의 미래를 함께 조망할 수 있도록 김해시와 김영원작가가 함께 전시 부스를 지원한다.

김해시는 페스타에 참여할 작가들을 14일까지 공모 중이며, 지원 대상은 김해시 출신 예술인으로 연령과 미술 장르와 관계없이 모두가 지원 가능하다.

홍태용 시장은 “김해시립김영원미술관이 문화예술의 대전환을 이끌어 갈 수 있도록 서울국제조각페스타 종료 이후에도 김해시 전역으로 찾아가는 미술관 등 사전프로그램을 지속적으로 운영하겠다”며 “시민들의 문화접근성 향상을 위해 도시 전체가 곧 미술관이 될 수 있도록 노력할 것이다.”고 밝혔다.
