충청남도가 2027 하계세계대학경기대회의 성공적인 개최를 위해 충남 국제테니스장 조성사업의 기본설계 적격 심사를 통해 계룡 컨소시엄을 최종 선정했다고 11일 밝혔다.

충남 국제테니스장은 내포신도시 대학용지 내 5만 555㎡ 부지에 건립되며, 총사업비 817억 원이 투입된다.

이 중 국비 206억 원과 도비 611억 원이 포함된다.

이 테니스장은 충청권 유일의 국제 규격 테니스장으로, 결승전이 치러질 3000석 규모의 센터코트 1면, 1000석 규모의 쇼코트 1면, 500석 규모의 실내코트 4면, 경기코트 8면, 연습코트 2면 등 총 16면의 테니스 코트를 갖추게 된다.

충남 국제테니스장은 국내 및 국제대회의 유치를 통해 지역 스포츠 활성화에 기여할 것으로 기대되며, 경기 이후에는 지역 주민들을 위한 평생체육활동 공간으로 활용될 예정이다.
