대통령실이 13일 헌법재판소의 최재해 감사원장과 이창수 서울중앙지검장 등 검사 3인에 대한 탄핵심판 사건 기각 결정에 "헌법재판소의 최재해 감사원장·이창수 서울중앙지검장 등 검사 3인에 대한 탄핵심판 사건 기각 결정을 환영한다"고 밝혔다.
대통령실 대변인실은 이날 오전 언론 공지를 통해 "헌재는 탄핵 사유조차 불분명한 무리한 탄핵소추 4건을 모두 기각해 야당의 탄핵 남발에 경종을 울렸다"고 강조했다.
더불어 "공직자들이 하루빨리 업무에 복귀해 국정이 정상화되길 기대한다"고 덧붙였다.
앞서 이날 오전 헌재는 최 감사원장·이 서울중앙지검장 등 검사 3인에 대한 탄핵심판 사건에서 각각 재판관 8명 전원일치 의견으로 "국회가 제시한 탄핵소추 사유는 헌법·법률 위반으로 볼 수 없다"며 모두 기각 결정했다.
탄핵 기각으로 최 감사원장과 이 지검장 등 검사 3인은 즉각 업무에 복귀했다.
