브레이크뉴스 임국정 기자 = 진성준 더불어민주당 정책위의장이 13일 "미국 에너지부(DOE)가 한국을 '민감국가'로 분류하는 규제에 착수했다고 한다"라며 "민감국가 분류 원인이 일부 보수 정치인의 핵무장론에 있다는 분석이 많다"라고 주장했다.

진 의장은 이날 국회에서 열린 당 정책조정회의에 참석해 이같이 밝혔다.

그는 민감국가 분류와 관련해 "이것이 사실이라면 원자력, AI(인공지능) 등 첨단기술 분야에서 미국과의 교류, 협력이 엄격히 제한된다"라고 설명했다.

이어 "초유의 사태가 발생했는데, 정부는 실태 파악도 제대로 못 한 것으로 보인다"라며 "지난 11일 국회 외교통일위원회 전체회의에서 조태열 외교부 장관은 '비공식 제보를 받은 것을 가지고 상황 파악 중이다'라고 답변했다. 정부의 안일함과 무능함에 할 말을 잊는다"라고 비판했다.

진 의장은 "미국은 국가 안보, 핵 비확산, 테러 지원 등을 기준으로 민감국가를 지정해 왔다"라며 "그런데 대통령을 비롯한 국민의힘의 유력 인사들이 핵무장을 주장하니까, 미국 정부가 제동을 걸기 위해 강력한 경고를 보내는 것이라 하지 않을 수 없다"라고 주장했다.

그는 "'대한민국이 핵무장을 하겠다고 마음먹으면 1년 이내에도 할 수 있다' 지난 2023년 4월 윤석열이 하버드대학교 연설에서 내놓은 발언"이라며 "오세훈 서울시장은 '자체 핵무장이 가장 좋은 협상 전략이다' 이렇게 말했다"라고 지적했다.

또 "국민의힘 한동훈 전 대표는 '핵무장은 언제든지 할 수 있는 준비가 필요하다'고 했다"라며 "홍준표 대구시장은 '미국에서 전술핵무기를 가져오든지, 나토식 핵공유를 하든지, 자체 핵개발을 해야 한다'고 말했다"라고 짚었다.
