【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=보은군은 군민이 행복한 도시형 농촌 보은 건설을 위해 도시재생사업을 본격 추진한다고 13일 밝혔다.

군에 따르면 도시재생사업은 인구감소와 주거 환경 노후화 등으로 쇠퇴하는 도시를 지역 역량 강화와 새로운 기능 창출을 통해 도시의 경제, 사회, 물리적 활성화를 도모하는 사업이다.

군은 도심지역 노후화와 정주여건 악화로 주민들의 생활 만족도가 떨어진다는 의견을 반영해 지역소멸 위기 대응과 쾌적한 생활 인프라 정비를 위해 도시재생을 적극 추진할 계획이다.

아울러 3월부터 9월까지 진행되는 도시재생대학을 통해 지역주민이 직접 자신의 동네를 홍보할 수 있는 역량을 키우도록 도시재생과 관련한 전방위적인 교육을 실시해 도시 마케터로의 성장을 도울 예정이다.

또한 상반기에 기반 시설이 취약한 죽전리 일원 정비를 위해 정부 지원 도시재생사업인 우리동네살리기 사업 공모를 신청하고, 하반기에 보은읍 중심지 활성화를 위한 지역특화재생 사업과 노후 다세대 주택 정비를 위한 도시재생 인정사업 공모에도 도전할 계획이다.
