이번 협약은 신선채소 등의 안정적인 연중생산 공급과 기능성 성분 증진을 촉진해 전남도 원예산업의 소득 모델을 창출하기 위해 마련됐다.

수직농장형 스마트 작물생산 시스템은 최근 국내외적으로 급속히 성장하고 있으며, 특히 기후변화에 취약한 노지 농법을 보완할 기술로 주목받고 있다. 이 농법은 작물의 성장에 필수적인 광환경과 온습도 환경 등을 초정밀하게 조절해 작물의 기능성을 높이고, 생산성을 향상시켜 안정적인 연중 생산을 가능하게 한다.

협약을 통해 양 기관은 ▲채소류 수직농장 관련 공동연구 ▲스마트 양액공급 시스템 공동개발 협력 ▲기타 상호 협력사업 발굴 및 공동발전에 적극 협력하기로 했다.

나주시에 위치한 ㈜파미는 AI 기반 스마트팜 플랫폼 개발 기업으로, 2016년부터 인공지능 스마트팜 수직농장 시스템 개발과 기능성 증진 약초류 실내생산 기술개발을 추진해 기술력을 인정받은 토종기업이다.
