한덕수 대통령 권한대행 국무총리가 미국발 관세·대미통상 대응 등을 위해 전면에 나선다.
한 대행은 25일 오전 서울 종로구 정부서울청사에서 열린 통상관계장관 간담회에서 그간 최상목 경제부총리가 주재한 '대외경제현안 간담회'를 권한대행이 주재하는 '경제안보전략 TF'로 개편 운영키로 했다.
이는 미 도널드 트럼프 신정부 관세정책 등 대외 불확실성 증가에 대한 대응력 제고 및 통상·안보 이슈 간 연계 강화 차원으로 풀이되고 있는 가운데 '미국통' '통상 전문가'인 한 대행이 직접 지휘에 나서는 것이다.
한 대행은 "이미 현실로 닥쳐온 통상전쟁에서 우리나라 국익을 확보하기 위해 정부·민간의 모든 역량을 쏟아부어야 할 때"라며 4월 2일 예정된 미 상호관세 발표에 대한 점검·대응을 더욱 철저히 하라"고 당부했다.
한 대행은 이 자리에서 안덕근 산업통상자원부 장관·조태열 외교부 장관·정인교 통상교섭본부장 등으로부터 대미협의 진행 상황·향후 대응계획 등을 보고 받았다.
한 대행은 대미 통상환경 변화 영향을 크게 받을 수 있는 주요 기업들과 긴밀히 소통할 수 있도록 민·관 공동 대응체계를 강화하기로 했다.
