대전 유성구가 1회용품 사용을 줄이기 위한 종합 계획인 ‘다시 사용하고 1회 용품 줄이는 실천 ON’을 수립하고 본격적인 실행에 나섰다고 26일 밝혔다.

이번 계획에 따라 유성구에서 개최되는 각종 축제와 행사장에서는 다회용기가 제공되며, 청사 내에서는 1회용품 사용을 엄격히 제한할 예정이다.

유성구는 올해 개최되는 축제에서 1회용품 폐기물 감축을 위해 다회용기 지원을 확대하여 친환경적인 축제 문화를 조성할 계획이다.

지난해 ‘유성재즈&맥주페스타’에서 다회용 컵을 사용해 큰 호응을 얻은 바 있으며, 올해는 이 축제뿐만 아니라 유성구의 대표 축제인 ‘유성온천문화축제’에서도 음료와 음식을 다회용기에 제공할 예정이다.

또한, 유성구는 ‘청사 내 1회 용품 제로(Zero)’를 선언하고, 청사와 보건소, 평생학습원 등 총 21개의 다회용 컵 공급 및 회수함을 설치한다. 개인 다회용기 사용을 촉진하기 위해 4개 층에 텀블러 세척기도 비치할 예정이다.

유성구는 탈(脫) 플라스틱 전환을 위해 민·관·학 협력 체계를 구축하고, 일회용 플라스틱 발생량 감축을 위한 협업을 강화할 계획이다.
