【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군이 26일 도안초등학교 학생들과 ‘어린이와 함께 꽃밭가꾸기’ 행사를 열며 자연 속에서 특별한 시간을 가졌다.

지역의 대표 명소인 보강천 미루나무숲에서 열린 이날 행사에는 도안초 5학년 학생들과 교사 등 총 50여 명이 참여했다.

학생들은 루피너스, 석죽, 델피니움 등 여름꽃 1천500여 본을 손수 심으며 자연과 교감하는 소중한 경험을 나눴다.

또한 전문 숲해설가가 동행해 미루나무숲의 생태적 가치와 아름다움 설명하며 배움의 기회를 더했다.

이날 행사에는 이재영 군수도 함께하며 학생들과 직접 소통하는 시간을 가졌다.

이재영 군수는“증평은 돌봄도시로서 아이들의 꿈을 키우고, 미래를 가꾸는 데 최선을 다하고 있다”며, “아름다운 미루나무숲에서 아이들이 자연과 교감하며 성장할 수 있도록 돕는 것도 따뜻한 돌봄의 일환”이라고 강조했다. 이어 “오늘 심은 꽃이 자라 아름다운 풍경을 만들 듯, 증평군도 미래세대를 위한 지속가능한 도시로 성장해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 군은 다가오는 여름을 맞아 보강천 미루나무숲을 더욱 화사하게 가꿀 예정이다.

미루나무숲에는 메리골드, 페츄니아 등 여름꽃 8만여 본을 심고, 주요 도로변과 가로등 화분에 3만여 본을 식재해 지역 주민과 방문객들에게 특색있는 볼거리와 여가 공간을 제공할 계획이다.
