자립 준비 청년들이 성공적인 사회진출을 할 수 있도록 취업에 필요한 기술, 어학 등 자격 취득을 지원한다. 특히, 올해는 태블릿 PC 등 교육 물품이 담긴 특별한 응원 박스까지 함께 전달한다. 

자립 준비 청년은 만 18세가 되어 아동복지시설이나 가정 위탁의 보호가 끝나 사회에 홀로서기를 준비해야하는 청년들을 일컫는다. 자립 준비 청년들은 시설에서 퇴소하게 되면 지자체로부터 일부 지원금을 받긴 하지만 정기적인 수입이 없는 상황에서 사회로 나오는 순간부터 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 

KB캐피탈은 자립 준비 청년들이 고단한 환경 속에서 희망을 잃지 않고, 사회의 구성원으로 성장하도록 지원하는 사업을 지속하고 있다.

‘희망의 디딤돌’ 사업은 자립 준비 청년들의 취업을 위한 수험료부터 교육비까지 맞춤형 지원한다. 운전면허증부터 베이커리, 지게차 운전 기능사와 같은 자격증뿐만 아니라 외국어, 한국사 시험 등 취업 시 필요한 자격시험까지 지원한다. 

2023년부터 지원한 KB캐피탈 ‘희망의 디딤돌’ 사업을 통해 자격증 및 자격시험을 통과한 자립 준비 청년은 총 82명으로, 현재 한국철도공사, 조경회사 등 다양한 분야에 취업하여 당당한 사회의 구성원으로 자리잡고 있다.
