[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 조규일 진주시장이 여름철 풍수해 등 자연재난에 대비해 해빙기 취약시설과 재해위험지구에 대한 현장 점검에 나섰다고 16일 밝혔다.

진주시는 여름철 자연재난 대책기간(5월 15일~10월 15일)을 앞두고 지난 2월부터 급경사지, 산사태 취약시설 등 752개소에 대한 안전점검을 실시했다. 

이번 점검 결과 112개소에서 지적사항이 발견됐으며, 이 중 74개소는 이미 보수를 완료했고 나머지도 조속히 보강할 계획이다.

15일 조 시장은 명석면 삭평배수장과 나불천 자연재해위험개선지구를 찾아 집중호우 시 배수장 운영 상황 등을 점검하고 선제적인 대응의 중요성을 강조했다.

시는 올해 여름부터 자연재난 대응 TF팀을 운영하고, 주요 시설물에 대한 일제 점검과 함께 재난위험 개선지구 정비사업도 속도감 있게 추진할 방침이다.

또 시는 오는 12월까지 위험·분석 발굴 용역을 추진해 장단기 재난예방 투자계획을 수립하고, 자연재난 대응체계를 더욱 강화할 계획이다.

조 시장은 “기후변화로 인한 재난은 예측이 어렵지만 철저한 대비와 효과적인 대응으로 시민의 생명과 재산을 지키겠다”고 말했다.
