【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시의회가 지역의 미래 성장동력 확보를 위해 신재생에너지와 유소년 스포츠 분야를 중심으로 한 정책 연구 활동에 본격 돌입했다.

의회 의원연구단체인 '바람길'과 '유소년 스포츠와 미래'는 지난 15일 각각 간담회와 착수보고회를 개최하며 실효성 있는 정책 제안과 지역 맞춤형 모델 개발에 나설 것을 예고했다.

신재생에너지 개발과 포항형 해상풍력 발전을 연구하는 '바람길'은 시의회 3층 회의실에서 첫 간담회를 열고, 국내외 해상풍력 발전 동향 공유와 포항의 지형·기후 특성을 반영한 지역형 해상풍력 발전 전략 수립의 필요성을 논의했다.

김영헌 대표의원을 비롯한 조민성, 함정호, 이상범, 김상백 의원은 포항의 지속가능한 발전을 위한 실현 가능한 에너지 정책 수립에 뜻을 모았다.

같은 날 열린 '유소년 스포츠와 미래' 연구단체의 정책연구 용역 착수보고회에서는 유소년 스포츠 육성과 지역 운동선수의 정착 방안을 포함한 체계적인 지역 스포츠 육성 전략 수립 방안이 발표됐다.

김형철 대표의원과 임주희, 최해곤, 양윤제, 이다영 의원 등은 포항시체육회와 함께 지역 스포츠 환경 분석과 유관기관 연계를 통한 전문체육 및 생활체육 활성화 방안 마련에 집중할 계획이다.

이번 두 연구단체의 활동은 각각 신재생에너지와 체육 분야에서 포항형 모델을 개발하고, 이를 통해 지역 맞춤형 성장전략을 구축하려는 포항시의회의 정책적 시도로 평가된다.

김영헌 의원은 “신재생에너지 개발은 선택이 아닌 필수”라며 지역 특성에 맞는 해상풍력 전략 필요성을 강조했고, 김형철 의원 역시 “유소년 스포츠는 지역 미래와 직결된다”며 체계적 육성의 중요성을 밝혔다.

포항시의회는 향후 현장 중심의 연구와 실효성 있는 정책 제안을 통해 지역 특화 산업과 인재 육성 기반 조성에 앞장설 방침이다.

Representative Assembly member Kim Young-heon, along with Assembly members Jo Min-seong, Ham Jeong-ho, Lee Sang-beom, and Kim Sang-baek, agreed to establish a feasible energy policy for the sustainable development of Pohang.

At the policy research service commencement report meeting of the 'Youth Sports and the Future' research group held on the same day, a plan to establish a systematic regional sports development strategy, including youth sports development and settlement of local athletes, was announced.

Representative Kim Hyung-cheol, Lim Ju-hee, Choi Hae-gon, Yang Yoon-je, and Lee Da-young plan to focus on analyzing the regional sports environment and establishing plans to vitalize professional and recreational sports through linkages with related organizations with the Pohang City Sports Council.

The activities of these two research groups are evaluated as a policy attempt by the Pohang City Council to develop Pohang-type models in the fields of renewable energy and sports, respectively, and to establish a regional customized growth strategy through this.

Representative Kim Young-heon emphasized the need for an offshore wind power strategy that suits the characteristics of the region, saying, "Renewable energy development is not a choice but a necessity," and Representative Kim Hyung-cheol also emphasized the importance of systematic development, saying, "Youth sports are directly connected to the future of the region."

Pohang City Council plans to take the lead in creating a foundation for fostering regional specialized industries and talent through field-oriented research and effective policy proposals.
