보건복지부와 한국보건복지인재원이 공동 기획한 이번 캠페인은 ‘아이는 행복하고, 청년은 희망을 키우며, 노인은 보람있는 대한민국이 되도록 함께하자’라는 슬로건을 내걸고, 인구감소에 대한 사회적 인식을 개선하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다.

2024년 10월 보건복지부에서 시작된 이 릴레이 캠페인은 기관 및 단체 주요 인사들이 슬로건과 함께 촬영한 사진을 보도자료와 SNS를 통해 인증한 후 다음 참여자를 지목하는 방식으로 진행된다.

조규화 수성구의회 의장의 지목을 받은 이동협 의장은 “인구감소는 우리 사회의 지속가능성과 직결되는 중요한 문제”라며 “경주시의회는 지역 실정에 맞는 정책과 제도적 지원을 통해 시민의 삶의 질을 높이고, 아이부터 어르신까지 모두가 안심하고 살아갈 수 있는 환경을 조성하는 데 앞장서겠다”고 밝혔다.

이 의장은 다음 캠페인 참여자로 허홍 밀양시의회 의장과 최익순 강릉시의회 의장을 지목하며 릴레이를 이어갔다.

This relay campaign, which began in October 2024 by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, will be conducted by having key figures from organizations and groups take photos with the slogan and certify them through press releases and SNS, and then nominate the next participant.

Chairman Lee Dong-hyeop, who was nominated by Chairman Cho Gyu-hwa of Susung-gu Council, said, “Population decline is a critical issue that is directly related to the sustainability of our society,” and added, “Gyeongju City Council will take the lead in improving the quality of life of citizens and creating an environment where everyone, from children to the elderly, can live in peace through policies and institutional support that fit the local conditions.”

Chairman Lee continued the relay by nominating Chairman Heo Hong of Miryang City Council and Chairman Choi Ik-soon of Gangneung City Council as the next campaign participants.
