【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=세월호 참사 11주기를 맞아 대구에도 희생자 추모를 위한 공간이 꾸려졌다.

대구 4.16연대는 참사 당일인 16일 대구 중구 동성로에서 '추모, 약속, 희망을 위한 4.16기억공간'을 운영했다.

희생자들의 영정사진이 마련된 공간에는 시민들의 발걸음이 이어졌다.

이들은 희생자들의 넋을 기리며 헌화하고 묵념했다. 세월호 진상규명 촉구를 위해 서명을 하고, ‘국민에겐 알권리가 있다’, ‘진실은 밝혀집니다’ 등의 내용이 적힌 포스트잇을 붙이며 희생자들을 추모하기도 했다.

기억공간을 찾은 김수정(40·달서구)씨는 “아이들을 지켜주지 못한 미안함, 앞으로는 이런 세상을 물려주지 않아야겠다는 마음으로 참여하게 됐다”며 “앞으로 우리 사회를 바꾸려면 어른들만 아니라 젊은 세대도 투표 같은 행동으로 변화를 만들어 가야한다”고 말했다.

대구4.16연대 이도화 활동가는 “10년이 지났지만 추모제의 내용은 달라지지 않았다”며 “안전 사회를 만들기 위한 변화는 제대로 이뤄진 게 없고 진실이나 원인이 밝혀진 것도 없다”고 꼬집었다. 그러면서 “안전 사회를 만들어가려는 바람이 빨리 이루어져야 되겠다는 그런 마음이 한결 같다”고 덧붙여 말했다.

She added, "In order to change our society in the future, not only adults but also the younger generation should take action such as voting to create change."

Daegu 4.16 Solidarity activist Lee Do-hwa said, “10 years have passed, but the content of the memorial ceremony has not changed,” and criticized, “There has been no proper change to create a safe society, and the truth or cause has not been revealed.” He added, “The desire to create a safe society must be realized quickly, and that is the same.”
