브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 박성훈 국민의힘 중앙선대위 대변인은 21일 "이재명 더불어민주당 후보에게 나라 곳간은 '털어먹을 ATM기'로밖에 보이지 않는다는 발상 자체가 매우 무서울 정도"라고 비판했다.

박 대변인은 이날 논평을 통해 "이 후보가 인천 남동구 유세에서 '나라가 빚을 지면 안 된다는 무식한 소리를 하는 사람이 있다'며 재정 확대 의지를 드러냈다"며 이같이 밝혔다.

그는 "기획재정부에 따르면 올해 3월 말 기준 국가채무는 1,175조 원으로, GDP 대비 46.1%에 달한다"며 "IMF는 한국의 국가부채 비율이 올해 GDP 대비 54.5%에 도달해 비기축통화국 평균을 처음으로 초과하고, 5년 뒤에는 59.2%까지 치솟을 것으로 전망하고 있다"고 지적했다. 또 "증가 속도는 주요국 중 가장 빠르다는 경고도 있다"고 덧붙였다.

이어 "국제신용평가사 피치 역시 한국의 재정적자와 국가채무 증가가 중장기적으로 국가신용등급 강등을 초래할 수 있다고 경고한 바 있다"며 "이런 상황에서 이 후보가 포퓰리즘적 정책을 남발하며 재정을 허투루 쓰려는 듯한 태도는 매우 무책임하다"고 비판했다.

박 대변인은 또 "올해 역시 내수 침체와 수출 둔화로 세수 부족이 우려되고, 나랏빚이 늘면 국가신용등급이 하락하게 되며, 이는 정부와 기업의 비용 부담을 키우고 결국 한국 경제를 깊은 수렁에 빠뜨릴 수 있다"면서 "재정은 단순한 예산 집행 수단이 아니라 경제 위기를 막는 방파제이자 국가 신인도 유지를 위한 최후의 보루이다. 지금은 경제 회복을 위한 골든타임으로, 규제 완화와 구조 개혁에 집중해야 할 시점"이라고 강조했다.
