브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이준석 개혁신당 의원이 대선후보자 TV토론회에서 여성 신체 폭력을 묘사한 언급과 관련, 의원직 제명 요구 국회 국민동의 청원이 44만명 이상이 참여했다.

'이준석 의원의 의원직 제명에 관한 청원'에 대한 동의 수는 9일 오후 5시 기준 44만7250명으로 집계됐다.

이 의원에 대한 의원직 제명 청원은 국회전자청원 역대 최다 동의 2위를 기록 중이며 지난해 12월 4일 올라 온 '대통령 윤석열 탄핵소추와 내란죄 수사를 위한 특검법 제정 촉구에 관한 청원' 동의(40만287명)를 뛰어넘었다.

청원인은 "이준석 의원은 제21대 대통령 선거 후보자 토론회(제3차)에서 모든 주권자 시민이 지켜보고 있는 가운데 상대 후보를 공격하기 위해 여성의 신체에 대한 폭력을 묘사하는 언어 성폭력을 저질렀다"라며 청원 취지를 밝혔다.

한편, 청원이 동의 요건을 채운 만큼 국회는 향후 이 의원에 대한 제명 여부를 논의할 전망이다. 국회의원 제명은 국회 구성원 3분의 2 이상이 찬성해야 한다.
