(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 수도권매립지관리공사(이하 공사)가 지난 9일 인천 서구 드림파크CC에서 ‘제4회 드림파크CC 사장배 친선 골프대회’를 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.

공사에 따르면, 2023년 첫 대회 이후 올해로 네 번째를 맞은 이번 대회는 일반 시민을 대상으로 참가 신청을 받아 무작위 추첨을 통해 선정된 70개 팀(280명)이 참가했으며, 모든 참가자들이 각기 다른 홀에서 동시에 경기를 시작하는 방식으로 진행됐다.

특히, 이번 대회의 참가비는 ‘사랑의 그린피’라는 이름으로 연말 사회복지공동모금회에 기부되어, 수도권매립지 주변 영향지역 내 소외계층을 위한 불우이웃돕기 사업에 사용될 예정이다.

송병억 사장은 “사용 종료된 폐기물 매립장을 시민을 위한 골프장으로 탈바꿈시킨 만큼, 앞으로도 드림파크CC를 활용한 다양한 사회공헌 프로그램을 운영할 계획”이라며 “특히 지역 청소년과 골프 꿈나무들을 육성하고 지원하는 등 환경·사회·투명(ESG) 경영을 적극 실천해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 드림파크CC는 사용 종료된 페기물 매립장 상부에 조성된 국내 대표적인 36홀 규모의 대중 골프장으로 2014년 인천아시안게임 골프 경기와 미국여자오픈 지역 예선전을 유치하는 등 국제적인 대회 개최 경험을 갖춘 명문 코스다. 

현재는 지역사회와의 상생을 위한 다양한 사회공헌 활동에도 앞장서고 있다.

Capital Area Landfill Management Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the Corporation) announced that it successfully held the '4th Dream Park CC President's Cup Friendly Golf Tournament' at Dream Park CC in Seo-gu, Incheon on the 9th.

According to the Corporation, this competition, which is the fourth since the first competition in 2023, was held with 70 teams (280 people) selected through a random draw after receiving applications from the general public, and all participants started the game at the same time on different holes.
