경기도 고양특례시가 성인문해교육의 성과를 선보이는 뜻깊은 전시회를 연다. 

10일부터 19일까지 일산동구 백마 화사랑에서 열리는 '높빛희망학교 시화작품 전시회'는 평균 나이 70세의 늦깎이 학습자들이 직접 쓴 시와 그림을 통해 배움의 기쁨을 나누는 자리다.

"높이 쌓인 세월, 빛나는 시에 담다"라는 주제로 열리는 이번 전시회는 어려운 가정형편이나 시대적 배경으로 제때 교육을 받지 못했던 어르신들의 학습 여정을 조명한다. 

성인문해교육을 통해 읽고 쓰기, 셈하기 등 기초학습 능력을 기른 이들이 자신감을 회복하고 사회와 소통하는 모습을 보여주는 의미 있는 행사다.

전시회장인 백마 화사랑(일산동구 애니골길 14-14)에는 총 38점의 시화작품이 실내외 공간에 걸쳐 전시된다. 

전시 기간 중에는 참가자들이 직접 나서는 시낭송회도 마련되어 있어 관람객들이 더욱 생생한 감동을 받을 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

전시회에 참가한 한 어르신은 자신의 작품을 통해 배움에 대한 열정을 솔직하게 표현했다.

이동환 고양시장은 "배움의 기회를 놓쳤던 어르신들이 시를 통해 세상과 소통하고, 배움을 향한 열정을 계속 이어갈 수 있도록 꾸준히 지원할 계획"이라고 밝혔다.

전시 장소인 백마 화사랑은 평생학습 강좌부터 예술작품 전시 및 공연까지 다채로운 프로그램을 운영하는 고양시의 특색 있는 교육문화공간이다. 

시민들의 휴식과 소통을 위한 카페도 함께 운영되고 있어 전시 관람과 함께 여유로운 시간을 보낼 수 있다.

이번 전시회는 나이가 들어도 배움을 멈추지 않는 어르신들의 열정과 성인문해교육의 중요성을 다시 한번 일깨워주는 뜻깊은 행사가 될 것으로 보인다.
