충남 서천군이 오는 6월 13일부터 15일까지 열리는 제35회 한산모시문화제 기간 중, 한산읍성 일대에서 ‘국가유산 체험프로그램’을 운영한다. 

올해로 4년째를 맞는 본 프로그램은 지역 문화유산을 살아있는 교육 자원으로 활용, 일반 시민들이 국가유산을 더욱 가깝게 느낄 수 있도록 기획됐다.

이번 체험 프로그램은 총 7개 부스로 구성되며, 남녀노소 누구나 참여할 수 있는 다양한 콘텐츠가 마련돼 있다. 

올해는 조선시대 시간여행 콘셉트의 고고학 체험 ‘성문 연필꽂이 & 감성부채 만들기’, ‘서천 국가유산 야행’을 미리 만나보는 사전 참가 이벤트 및 스탬프 미션, ‘반려벼 심기’, 광복 80주년을 기념한 ‘월남 이상재를 만나다’ 등 시대적 의미를 되새기는 프로그램이 포함됐다. 이밖에도 어린이들이 자유롭게 유산을 놀이처럼 접할 수 있는 ‘서천의 유산 놀이터’도 운영된다.

이번 행사는 서천군을 비롯해 충청남도역사문화연구원, (재)청암문화재단, 문화유산연구소 명심, 문화상상연구소, 지속가능발전소 자몽 등 다양한 지역 및 전문 기관이 협력해 프로그램의 깊이와 다양성을 더했다. 

특히 충청남도역사문화연구원은 2022년부터 서천에서 진행된 학술 발굴 사업을 기반으로, 지역 밀착형 체험 콘텐츠를 꾸준히 개발해오고 있다. 올해도 연구원이 직접 체험 운영에 참여하며, 발굴 경험을 바탕으로 한 교육 콘텐츠를 현장에 적용한다.

이온숙 서천군 문화체육과장은 “한산읍성을 배경으로 펼쳐지는 이번 체험은 국가유산의 의미와 가치를 온몸으로 체감할 수 있는 기회”라며 “앞으로도 다양한 기관과 협력해 서천이 가진 역사문화 자산을 더욱 폭넓게 소개하고 알릴 수 있도록 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.
