더불어민주당은 10일, 이재명 정부 1기 원내대표후보 합동 토론회를 국회의원회관 제2소회의실에서 진행했다.

이날 이소영 의원(과천.의왕시)의 사회로 진행된 원내대표 합동토론회에 후보로 나선 기호1번 김병기·기호2번 서영교 의원은 각자 이재명 정부의 성공을 위해 권리당원(20%)과 민주당 국회의원들에 원내대표 최적임자임을 호소했다. 

원내대표는 오는 12일과 13일 이틀 동안 진행되는 권리당원 온라인 투표와 13일 의원 투표를 거쳐 발표될 예정이다.

특히 이번 원내대표 선출은 당헌·당규 개정에 따라 권리당원이 참여하는 첫 선거다. 재적 의원(167명) 투표 80%, 권리당원 투표 20%(의원 표 환산 시 약 34표)를 합산해 과반 득표자를 원내대표로 선출한다.

두 후보 모두 친명(친이재명)계로 자신이 이재명 대통령의 국정 철학을 가장 잘 이해하고 있으며 정권을 뒷받침할 적임자라고 호소했다. 두 사람은 수평적 당정관계를 통해 내란종식과 경제를 살리는 민생회복에 주안점을 두었다. 

김병기 의원은 국가정보원 간부 출신으로 3선 의원이다. 이재명 당대표 1기 지도부에서 수석사무부총장을 지냈으며, 지난 총선에서는 공천관리위원회 간사로서 후보자 검증을 총괄해 당을 친명계 중심으로 재편하는 데 기여했다. 이번 대선에서는 선거대책위원회 조직본부장을 맡아 역할했다.

김 의원은 "국정원에서 잔뼈가 굵은 제가 국정원 개혁에 앞장 선 경험을 바탕으로 당선 즉시 반헌법행위특별조사위원회(반헌특위)를 설치해 윤석열 내란 전모를 낱낱이 밝혀내겠다"면서 "이재명 정부의 '대한민국 재건 프로젝트의 1호 파트너 요원'인 내란 종식의 최종병기로 선택해 달라"고 호소했다.

그는 “원내대표가 되면 상임위별로 장차관 모임을 정례화하여 원만한 당정관계를 정착화 시키겠다”고 밝혔다.  

서영교 의원은 이대 총학생회장, 청와대 춘추관장을 통해 국정경험을 강조했다. 그는 과거 이재명 당대표 1기 지도부에서 최고위원을 지낸 여성 중진 의원으로 원내수석부대표와 국회 행정안전위원장 등을 역임했다. 지난 21대 대선 당시 이재명 후보 캠프 선대위에서 대구 경북 골목골목을 누비며 대선 선거운동 경험을 내세웠다. 

서 의원은 "이재명 정부의 성공을 위해 내란을 완전히 종식시키고 경제를 살릴 수 있도록 입법·정책·예산에 최선을 다하겠다"며, “사법개혁, 검찰개혁, 민생개혁에 앞장설 것”을 역설했다.
