대통령실이 13일 최근 캄보디아에서 한국인을 대상으로 한 취업 사기·감금 등 범죄 증가 관련해 범정부 차원의 태스크포스(TF)를 구성해 대응책 마련에 나선다고 밝혔다.

대통령실은 이날 오후 언론 공지를 통해 위성락 국가안보실장 주재로 '캄보디아 한국인 범죄 대응 TF' 첫 회의를 주재한다며 이같이 전한 가운데 회의엔 외교·법무부·경찰청 등 관계기관이 참석한다.

최근 한국인 대학생이 캄보디아에서 범죄 조직에 납치돼 고문·살해당한 사건이 알려진 와중에 한국인 30대 남성도 캄보디아에서 납치됐다는 신고가 접수되는 등 한국인 대상 강력 범죄가 증가 추세를 보이고 있는 실정이다.

대통령실은 "캄보디아 내 취업 사기·감금 피해로부터 우리 국민을 보호하기 위한 노력을 다각도로 진행 중"이라며 "이런 피해를 근절하기 위해 관련 조직범죄에 대한 엄격한 법 집행도 해 나갈 것"이라고 밝혔다.
